Flickr+Digg=JPG Magazine

JPG Magazine bills itself as a publication where readers and photographers create and vote for the content via the web. It works like this: first you upload your photos to the site. Next, JPG Mag visitors pick out their favorite photos and the editors select those to be used in the magazine. If your photo is selected for publication, you receive $100 dollars and a year's free subscription to the magazine.
The site claims that "Voting is about the quality of the photo as well as how well it fits the theme. Getting lots of votes doesn't guarantee publication, but it helps!" It remains how well this works, especially considering that sites like Digg have been having problems preventing friends from pushing each other's stories to the top.
Oh, and photos can't have watermarks, frames and other Photoshop additions. I'm going to have to go through my back catalogue and redo the images if I want to submit to the mag...
