Cambodia

Every so often, doing something completely random can do you the world of good. Two weeks ago I was in Tokyo, finishing the third semester of my Masters degree, shooting bands and looking for a new job. Cut to last Thursday, and I'm scaling 900 year-old Cambodian ruins with a deadly hangover.

Yes, I'd decided to take a holiday. And I think it did me a lot of good. But why Cambodia? I knew that my good friend Feo (Australian on the outside, hot-blooded Moldovan on the inside) was working in Singapore, so my first thought was to go and visit him there for a few days. When he told me that he wasn't in Singapore, but in the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh, I jumped at the excuse to visit Ankor and spend time going crazy with my camera. The results? Well, see for yourself...

Giuliani vs The Ferrets

On NPR's Wait, Wait... Don't Tell Me! this week, Peter Sagal made mention of then Mayor of New York Rudy Giuliani's rant against ferrets and their owners. Naturally, given my own love of these cute furry creatures, I had to hear Giuliani's diatribe for myself. And it was worth it!

Here it is, courtesy of Oliver Willis's blog.

Oh, and I promise this will be the LAST TIME I post anything animal-related on this site... for a while at least!
