Tikibar TV
By now just about everyone has heard of the cocktail-swilling exploits of Dr Tiki, Lala and Johnny Johnny. If, for some reason, you haven't seen any of Tikibar TV yet, imagine a home movie made by professional film makers who've been drinking cocktails for the better part of the evening.
There's something about the show that reminds me of cabaret or the best variety TV (yes, there is such a thing, especially here in Japan where it seems 99.9 per cent of the content is highly-produced variety). The show has a kind of inspired sillyness that's hard not to like, and for those of you who love homage (hey, who doesn't?) the show is packed with none-too-subtle references to classic films.
My favorite episode so far would have to be Drinkbot, closely followed by Snake.

I came, I saw, I ate some pho
Just back from ten days holiday down in Hanoi and Kuala Lumpur. We had a fantastic time, and despite early worries that our trip would coinside with this year's APEC meeting, we didn't have too much trouble getting around Hanoi and doing important things like eating, taking photos and... er... eating.
We were also fortunate to meet up with some friends from Tokyo. Ben - have fun in Melbourne and let me know if you want me to put you in touch with any of my mates there. Midori, it was great meeting you (finally) and I'm insanely jealous of your job in the Maldives. Shaun, it was sheer luck bumping into you guys just before I left. How was the Bia Hoi?
And yes, I took plenty of pics while away. You can check them out in the galleries, or on Flickr.
