Licences required for IPTV

The Australian is reporting that "internet service providers will be forced to apply for a broadcast licence for web-based TV services, known as IPTV, under a media discussion paper released by the federal Government."

Unembedded

Be sure to check out Unembedded, a site dedicated to the work of four independent photojournalists (Ghaith Abdul-Ahad, Kael Alford, Thorne Anderson and Rita Leistner) who have documented life (and death) in Iraq since the American invasion three years ago.

Maybe this time they could give it a happy ending?

They are remaking "Capote" already? In the soon-to-be-released film Infamous "writer Truman Capote develops a close relationship with convicted murderers Dick Hickock and Perry Smith" while researching his book In Cold Blood.

Behind the man with the mask, please

nintendocrop.jpgAs I mentioned in a previous post, the launch of the Xbox 360 here was a decidedly muted affair. At 10am on the day of the launch, there were only a couple of people outside Bic Camera waiting to purchase the machines.

By contrast, this was the scene outside the store last Saturday morning. The line went down one side of the building, and around the back toward Yurakucho station. Why were they there? For the new Nintendo DS, of course!
